Jared & I are very proud of Kysa for choosing to be baptized this Saturday at the beautiful Logan Tabernacle. It was a very special day and we appreciate all the support we had from both of our families and all of our friends (a special shout out to those who travelled that morning to be there at 10 a.m.). Kysa has been anxious for her baptism for several months. I am happy to say it has finally come and gone. After her dad baptized her and as she was climbing out of the font as we were headed back to the changing room her teeth were chattering uncontrollably. She looked into my tear filled eyes and said, "Mom, I just wanted to stay under there forever. It was so warm, like a blanket." I hope she can always keep that "warm blanket" with her. She is an amazing little girl and so full of life with curiosity galore. She likes to be the rule keeper in our home and always rats out anyone not keeping the rules. She has a very good radar of good and bad and I know that it will come in handy for her as now she is accountable and needs to make good choices. She was confirmed a member of the Church and given the Gift of the Holy Ghost by her Grandpa Johnson. It was an amazing spirit filling the room and all of those attending. I am happy to have great kids who Choose the Right (most of the time).
Thanks again to all of you who attended, helped on the program and helped with the luncheon. (Especially you Mom....you did an amazing job at the piano and I love you!) Back in April, Kysa planned her program! She asked her Great-Grandma Shirley to give a talk on baptism and it was beautiful. She asked her Grandma Johnson to give a talk on the Holy Ghost and Kysa loved it. She asked her Grandma Barbara to play the piano, her dad to baptize her, her Grandpa Johnson to confirm her, me to lead the music and her Aunt Michelle to say a prayer. Kysa sang "I am a Child of God" with Kirina, Kalli and Jordan joining in for the chorus. Kysa, you had a very memorable baptism.
Today at church, she felt the desire to bear her testimony. It was heart felt and pure. She was read in as the newest member of the Yorkshire Ward. I love her and her spirit!

So sorry we missed it. Crazy things happening here I can tell you about later. But I'm so glad it went well. She looks so beautiful.
ReplyDeleteThat baptism made my weekend! It was so beautiful and you could feel the "warm blanket" wrapping around you!
ReplyDeleteCongratulations Kysa!
Conrats Kysa! She looks so pretty, I love her dress (and her choice to be baptized of course.) It looks like you guys are doing well!
ReplyDeleteI am so proud of you Kysa! I wish I could have been there. I sure love you!
ReplyDeleteWhat a wonderful thing! We are very excited for Matthew, who is getting baptized Thanksgiving weekend. Yea! Wonderful times!
ReplyDeleteYeah! Don't you love that they can be baptized in the tabernacle. Such a historic place. Great job Kysa! I'm getting excited for Andrew's baptism. Since his birthday is at the end of December he gets baptized on New Years Day (hopefully noon is not too early). We'll see how that goes. Question...what did you do for the luncheon. After so many baby blessings and Danika's baptism, I'd like to do something different from those occasions.
