4th of July Weekend Fun!

Prior to the week before the "BIG" 4th of July weekend, we (me and the kids) went to the James & Agnes Toomer Reunion in Paris, ID.  It was fun and we enjoyed spending time with those we only see once a year & some we see more often (right? AMBER & MICHELLE!!)  Here are some pictures from that reunion on June 26, 2010:

Leading into the big 4th of July weekend, I got to attend the Cache Stake Young Women's camp as one of the Yorkshire Ward's camp directors from June 29-July 2.  That was a blast and we have very fun young women in our ward.  Our theme was "Happily Ever After" based on President Dieter F. Uchtdorf's Conference Talk "Your Happily Ever After."  Our camp was the Princess and the Frog.  It was a truly amazing experience to be in the wilderness with great girls.  I forgot my camera so there are no pictures of this event.  We got back from girls camp on Friday, July 2nd.

Later that afternoon, my mom, grandma, sis-in-law & kids, my mom's cousin, my aunt & her daughter all came to my house to stay (and yes, I still live in the two bedroom townhouse....good times, good times)!  It was so fun.  We went to the USU Romney Stadium for the fireworks and patriotic show.

On Saturday, July 3rd, Mom, Grams, Ida, Me, Gwen & Tiffany all went to Eclipse (but not before we had some brunch at Village Inn)!  It was so good.  Then enjoyed some time at the local Olive Garden for dinner.  Yummy!

Mom stayed with me last week while Jared was at EVO (emergency vehicle operation) school in Lehi (he stayed at my cousin's house right in Lehi for the week...thanks Dani & Bradley for taking him in and taking good care of him this week!!)  On Sunday, the 4th, Mom, Me & the kids went to Evanston, WY to attend the blessing of Jared's newest grand-nephew.  On the way home, Jordan threw up everywhere.  He was a pretty sick boy for a couple of days, but we did squeeze in a couple of fireworks in on the actual 4th of July in front of the house with G-ma!

On Monday, July 5th, mom's friend from Kemmerer, WY came and we introduced him to the Hyrum Parade.  It was great.  Jordan was still not feeling the greatest, but picked up a candy or two and liked watching all the cops and floats.  Later that evening, we went to our friend's, the Anderson's, and had a little light show of our own.  The kids loved it!

(John's shirt says "You bet your CULO I'm Italian")
He told us CULO means THUMB, but here is what Mr. Wikipedia says it is:
Culo means buttocks or bum in Spanish and ItalianHe is very proud of his Italian heritage!!

Thursday afternoon, we went to the new movie The Karate Kid.  The kids enjoyed it a lot.  I really liked it too, but I really liked the old one from my era!

The fun didn't end with The Karate Kid....Mom, Me, and my two friends, Kristi & Angela went to Letters to Juliet Thursday night.

Jared got home just in time to pull a double shift at the lake on Saturday, July 10th, Sunday & Monday! Then back to Lehi he goes for the final EVO test on Monday night.  I am so grateful for family on both the Sorensen & Johnson sides helping us out this summer.  You will never know how much it means to us to have incredible families!  The kids have loved spending time with all their extended family.  I am grateful that Jared has a great summer job that he is enjoying in Rich County Utah.  Every time I say our life will be back to normal after such & such time, something else inevitably comes up, so I will just say that we are grateful for all the trials and opportunities that are ours to learn and grow from and to enjoy!

We had some amazing times over the last week!  Just thought we would share!
